About This Web site

ScottPayne.org is designed and created by me. It started out with the basic shape and a small palette of grey colours. The dark greyscale colours are to make the site clean and move focus to the content. It also minimises any distraction from my images, artwork and graphics.

For text I have used black on a slightly grey background because I find this much easier to read as I am Dyslexic. Being Dyslexic also means i'm a very visual person and prefer to use images instead of words. I am very conscious of usability and try to make my sites accessible to as many people as I can without compromising on aesthetics.

I also do my best to make my sites as up to date with current guidelines and technology as possible. Making my code W3C compliant is the end goal. Although sometimes its not possible to make valid CSS due to certain browsers(almost always IE) not supporting it properly and me being required to use "hacks".

About Me

First i'm an artist and creative visual person. I've explored many other things and my interests are now in web design, graphics and photography. I am currently using CSS and I am impressed by its benefits over table based designs.

I'm interested in many things. Music is important to me, I listen to far more music than TV and film. My photography is often black & white, I feel that it creates a better feel for some images and colour can often be too much. I am currently using digital SLR cameras. Visit my gallery to see some of the photos I have taken.
